Kargil Victory Day Celebrations
To commemorate Kargil Victory Day on 26th July ’17, students of Sri Aurobindo School conducted a special assembly to pay their heartfelt homage to the martyrs of Indian Army, BSF and other troops who sacrificed their lives and won the war at Kargil. It was done with a view to salute the real heroes of the Nation and inspire the students for a patriotic cause. Patriotism is a vital virtue which must be deep rooted in young minds
On this occasion, Akanksha of Class IX recited a self composed poem to pay a tribute to the Indian armed forces and Khushi of the same class delivered a speech on the importance of this day. ‘Ai watan, Ai watan…….’ the group song mesmerized the audience. The boys performed a mime which was dedicated to the Martyrs who sacrificed their life .
Students displayed posters & banners to celebrate this day depicting moment of pride, courage and sacrifice shown by our Army Men and pledged to serve the Nation in every possible manner. .It is not a matter to debate that for a nation’s freedom to be protected, it needs the services of brave soldiers. And while war remains one of the most horrendous human events, there’s no doubt that there are situations that provoke a nation into war. With soldiers such as these heroes of Kargil war, we can sleep easy in the knowledge that there are defenders of our freedom who rank among the best. While wars are never welcome, some wars are inevitable. The Kargil war along the borders of India and Pakistan was one such in which the Indian Army with its inexorable courage, indomitable spirit and irrepressible valour inflicted defeat on Pakistan.
So today, on Kargil Vijay Diwas, it is befitting that we take a moment to thank the heroes of the Indian army that defended our nation because its the least we can do to never forget those that made the ultimate sacrifice for their motherland back in 1999 .. Far from home and loved ones, these heroes sacrificed their own lives so that the entire nation can sleep in peace.
The stories of their courage and passion are larger than their life. They are legends whose tales will not just make your chests swell with pride, but whose sacrifices will leave your eyes a little moist. They are men of steel, standing tall in the harshest of conditions. They disregard freezing cold temperatures and scorching heat to always remain brave, awake and devoted towards us. They are all heroes, each and every one of them. Let’s salute those heroes of the Kargil war.
The Principal Mrs Anjali Sharma appreciated the efforts put in by the students of class IX. She urged the students to remember the sacrifice the great martyrs make for our protection She saluted the countless lion-hearts who lost out their life on the battlefield during the war of 99. .She remarked that we should not take our freedom for granted, rather should strive every day to make India worthy of the invaluable sacrifice made by the Kargil Heroes.
