Rally for ‘Save trees’ & Tree Plantation Drive
The students of Sri Aurobindo School of Integral Education, Sector 27, Chandigarh, from classes
6 to 8, under the guidance of the school's Eco Club, conducted a rally with the cause of saving
trees. They recited slogans in favour of conservation and protection of trees, and marched safely
in the pedestrian lane without disrupting the traffic. They held placards and small banners to
spread awareness among the masses.
In the second phase of this event, i.e. tree plantation drive, the students of classes 9 and 10, along
with the Headmistress, Ms Gitika Kapoor and other teachers, welcomed the Chief Guests for the
event. The hon’ble Mayor, Chandigarh Mr. Anup Gupta and Counselor, Chandigarh, Mrs.
Harpreet Kaur Babla and Socialist Ms. Shikha Nizwan, graced the occasion with their presence
and thoroughly enjoyed the enthusiasm of the students and the teachers alike. They planted
saplings, accompanied by the teachers and students. The Mayor addressed the students and
sensitised them about the importance of tree plantation for a sustainable future. The
Headmistress presented a vote of thanks to the Chief Guests with tree saplings as a token of
gratitude.
